As Head of Operations you will have overall responsibility for leading, developing and following up our operational activities in accordance with current legislation, customer contracts, and DHL policies and guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include optimisation of our logistic flow of goods and on time deliveries, based on operating budget and profit margin objectives.
You will be heading an organisation of some 70 people. To ensure the quality, efficiency and precision of DHL services, you need to be able to motivate and ensure the commitment of your personnel, based on a supportive, coaching and business-like approach.
You will have overall responsibility for customer relations and sales development towards new and existing customers. The Warehouse Manager, two supervisors and a number of support functions will be reporting directly to you.
You must be able to ensure the fulfilment of our continuous goals and objectives, the implementation of ongoing improvement of our services, productivity and process quality standards, as well as an optimisation of the use and development of our operational resources.
You will be a member of our Site Management Team, reporting directly to our Site Manager.
Preferred background
The ideal candidate is a people person, who will be able to head our operation in a management by leadership style. Someone who genuinely wishes to be part of a business that aims to become Best in Class within Retail Logistics. Your previous experience should include labour-intensive operations and performance management, ensuring and maintaining the commitment of your personnel. This means you are required to be able to offer a coaching as well as task-oriented approach, based on your previous experience of people-based organisation development.
Candidates must have a good understanding of business logic as applied to overall company profitability. Your educational background should include higher education, excellent Swedish and English language fluency, both spoken and written, together with very good computer skills.
Furthermore, you must be result-driven and analytical, having previous experience of managing by objectives, business planning and systematic quality enhancement of working environment standards.
You are a very competent leader with excellent communication skills, who knows how to lead, encourage and motivate your personnel to surpass themselves in their work.
